Life of Pi

books

Life of Pi by Yann Martel.  I really struggle with fiction but this was on a lot of my friends’ favorites list so I thought I would give it a go.  The blue and orange cover with the white boat and cartoon figures of a boy and a tiger make it seem like a comic.  And it really could be if you were reading one of those, check your parents’ permission type of comics.

And the funny thing is, it’s not even true.  That’s why I struggle with fiction.  The whole time I’m saying to myself, but it’s not even true.  So maybe it can shed light on primal instinct and human nature, why we need a higher power.  The boy is Muslim, Christian, and Buddhist after all.  He might have some insight into these topics.
