Orchids are my Favorite Flower
I grew up in Okinawa, Japan as a little girl. My mom was a certified Ikebana instructor. She often took us to the flower market to to purhcase supplies for the upcoming week of classes. One time she took us to an orchid farm. I remember being completely transfixed by the smells, the colors, the thick humidity. I still have a mental image in my mind of that orchid farm. My mom and I went to see the orchid exhibit here at the Natural History Museum recently so I thought I would share a few pictures.
