US-Qatar Student Debates

Teacher Planning Meeting3 11-2010

Arabic students from Washington, DC and Doha, Qatar participated in rounds of debates using Cisco Systems TelePresence.  I was looking for a way to get students to learn Arabic after school without credit.  QFI provided the connecting schools in Qatar and two teachers from a boys and girls school agreed to participate.  We spent hours and hours planning it.  They recently completed the rounds of debating last Friday.  A special thanks to JJ Jamison, our contact at Cisco for connecting us with the technology.

That’s very cool — that technology looks amazing! I like all the innovative things you have done with your students to help them really get to know the other people and culture. (And also, you look great!)
