Not this Magazine
Normally if a magazine isn’t interested in my query they don’t respond at all. However, I did get a response from this guy. I pitched to an inflight magazine. Here is his response (then I’ll tell you what I sent):
“Hi Audrey,
Thank you for the pitch. Unfortunately, being an airline, we can’t really write about disasters, even preventing them. You understand.
Best,”
You can probably guess what I sent. A new approach to preventing disasters taken from the Japanese. It took me a second to get why that would be a problem for his magazine. Then I put myself into the shoes of an inflight magazine reader taking in a story about disasters as the plane begins to tremble.
Hmmmm. I laughed at that one.
