I once had a holiday boyfriend.
Our first date was on Halloween.
We went to a scary show.
A week later I moved to DC.
He brought over a rose for my family on Thanksgiving.
On Christmas I saw him for the first time in months.
On New Years I saw him for the last time.
I flew back that night to DC.
On Valentines Day he called me for the last time.
And that was the end of the holiday boyfriend.

I had a great day today. The ASL students put together a Christmas choir signing songs to elementary schools, rest homes, and special needs facilities. They put the music together, practiced, and set up all the gigs because I was so busy but I did my part–get a sub, a bus, permission slips, and be available.
We had so much fun today. We rode in a big yellow school bus all over Provo on icy roads with lots of falling snow. It was beautiful and very Christmassy outside today. The best part were the visits. Here are some pics from my phone:
This was at Trinity Mission, a rest home. We performed while the people living there ate their lunch.
This was at Medalian Manor, a home for special needs. The students all dressed up in Christmas colors.
This is at Amelia Earhart Elementary School. The students are on the stairs. I am the one on the floor announcing the songs to the kids you see in front. It’s really fun because the elementary school kids think that high school students are so cool. We had the kids learn signs and sign with us as we performed. You can see lots of the kids trying to follow along. After we did “I’m getting nothing for Christmas” I asked all the kids if the high school students should get presents even if they were bad this year. They all yelled out, “Yes!!”
We had fun. I hit the gound hard sliding on the snow somewhere in the middle of all that but serves me right for wearing tractionless shoes. Or maybe I like sliding around.
Oh–and a special note. A very cool thing happened. A student found out I was really struggling at work and talked to the principal about it. I don’t know who it was but the principal laid out a plan to help, people at BYU offered to help, my mom has offered some killer marketing ideas and support, and my cousin and I had a great talk the other night. I’m not sure how things are going to look next year but I feel loved and anyone can bear a little struggling when they feel loved. Thanks everyone. That was the best Christmas present. Merry Christmas!
